Monthly Good News Club Teacher Training Classes held October through April/May-training specifically for Good News Club teachers and helpers (all others are welcome).  A great time of fellowship and prayer for the local ministry.  Available the first week of each month at the following locations:

Super Seminars - Available for all teachers of God’s Word to His children.  Held at a hosting church or organization site.  These seminars are customized to meet the need of the hosting church or organization; one day of training consisting of four 45 minutes training sessions.

Christian Youth in Action (CYIA)- Leadership training designed for Christian teens who desire to serve the Lord.  Teens learn how to effectively teach God’s Word to children, how to present the Gospel message to anyone, and are encouraged in their Christian walk through association with other teens who have the same heart.  Ponderosa Chapter CYIA pre-training is normally held in April.   CEF of Oregon state training week is held at Turner, Oregon in June.  (Completion of pre-training is a prerequist to attending the State Training week).

Good News Clubs are held throughout Central Oregon September through April/May  (click here for locations).  However there are locations where volunteers are needed before we can reach out to the children with the love of Jesus Christ.  Please pray for volunteers or contact us if you are interested in becoming involved in reaching this ripe mission field right in your neighborhood!

 Over 950 children, teens and adults heard the wonderful news of the hope we have in Jesus Christ throughout the 2009 summer ministries in Central Oregon, 36 received Jesus as Lord and Savior.

 It is a joy to be able to share the hope we have in Jesus with children and adults as we minister – sharing the Gospel – at outreach events, Camp Good News and 5-Day Clubs.   At Camp children are encouraged to enjoy being children – special creations of God as well as taught wonderful truths from God’s Word.  They are also encouraged to love and respect God, one another and our country.  What a blessing to hear of two boys who were baptized the week after Camp.   Staff, volunteers and Christian Youth in Action teens poured their lives and Christ’s love into the children we had the privilege to minister to in all the summer ministries.   Our prayer is that every child will remember what they are taught and grow in the knowledge and love of Christ throughout thier lives!

The Gold Page

The gold page reminds me of God who is holy and pure – perfect in every way.  God is our Creator.  He created the universe and everything in it; the earth, sun, moon, stars, trees, everything.  God’s most precious creation is you – He created you and loves you very much.  In the Bible it says “For God so loved the world…” (John 3:16).  That means God loves you!  He wants you to have everlasting (forever) life and be with Him in Heaven someday.  But there is one thing that cannot be in Heaven – that is sin”

The Dark Page

This dark page reminds me of sin.  Sin is anything you think, say or do that displeases God.  Can you think of some ways that people sin?  Some examples are saying mean or unkind things, lying, hitting or being mean to others, even thinking mean thoughts is a sin.  God’s Word (the Bible) says “All have sinned…” (Romans 3:23).  That means you and I have sinned.  Sin separates us from God because God is perfectly good – without any sin at all.  God can’t allow sin where He is.  God says sin must be punished.  The punishment for sin is to be separated from God forever (Romans 6:23a).  God knew there was nothing you could do to get rid of your sin.  He knew you could not be good enough to please Him.  God loves you and wants you to have a wonderful new life with Him now – and forever in Heaven with Him one day.  So God made a way for your sin to be forgiven.

The Red Page

This red page reminds me of the only way you and I can have our sin forgiven.  God loved you so much that He sent His perfect Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to take the punishment for your sin.  Jesus Christ was born as a baby, He grew up as a child (just as we do), yet He never sinned.  He never did, said or thought anything wrong.  When Jesus Christ became a man  He willingly went to that cross, shedding His blood and died  to take the punishment for your sin and mine (Romans 6:23b).  God’s Word says “…without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness” (Hebrew 9:22).  Only Jesus’ perfect and sinless blood could pay the price for your sin and mine.  Jesus did not stay dead though, He came back to life on the third day and is now alive in Heaven.  Because of what the Lord Jesus did, you can have your sin forgiven.

Clean Page

God’s Word says “But as many as received Him (Jesus Christ), He (God) gave to them authority to become children of God, to those who believe on His (Jesus Christ) name.” (John 1:12).  Believing means to trust completely that Jesus is the Son of God,  the One who died and rose again to take the punishment that you deserve for your sin. 

Believing in Jesus is as easy as A, B, C.  Admit to God that you have sinned and tell Him that you are sorry for those wrong things you have said, thought or done.  Tell God that you Believe that His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, died taking the punishment you deserve for sin and that you believe  Jesus is alive in Heaven today.  Then Choose to follow God and His right ways. 

Here is a simple prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I have sinned and am sorry.  Thank You for dying for me.  I want You to help me turn from my sins.  Please forgive me right now and give me everlasting life.  Thank you.”

If you just prayed that prayer, what did the Lord Jesus do for you?   The Lord Jesus took your punishment and your sins are forgiven.  Who’s child are you now?  You are now a child of God.  God has a special promise in His Word for you.  In Hebrew 13:5 God says “I will never desert (leave) you, nor will I ever forsake you.”  God will always be with you to help you.

 Now that you are a child of God, He wants you to grow to be more like Jesus Christ. That is what the Green Page reminds us of.

Green Page

Green reminds me of things that grow.  That is exactly what God wants you to do.  Not growing bigger and taller, but growing to get to know Him better and following His ways.  How do you do that? Remember that grow is spelled G R O W.

G - Go to church, Sunday School, Good News Club.  Go where God’s Word (the Bible) is being taught

R – Read your Bible and pray.  Praying is how we talk, and listening, to God.  You can talk to God anytime, anywhere.

O – Obey God’s Word.  God has a wonderful plan for your life.  He wants to lead you in your new life, but you must obey and follow Him.

W – Witness (tell others) what God has done for you and that they too can believe on the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of their sin.

Now that you are God’s child He is living within you to help you live a life that is pleasing to Him.  Does that mean you will never sin again?  Unfortunately no, although it is not ok to sin.   When you do sin, tell God about it.  He will forgive you. 1 John 1:9 says “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  God is there to help you.  Pray and ask Him for strength to be more kind, obedient and truthful.  Now, let’s thank God for the wonderful gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and for making you His child.
